ABOUT CAPRRA

CAPRRA stands for the Capital Park Residents and Ratepayers Association or Capital Park Inwoners en Belastingbetalersvereniging.  

CAPRRA functions as a non-profit residents company, managed by local residents to address community issues, such as land use, traffic problems, community safety and marketing.

OUR MISSION

  • To establish Capital Park as a safe and crime free neighbourhood.
  • To establish Capital Park as the capital’s art and culture village, through our annual Avodazz Art and Avocado Festival and the Capital Meander Art Route.
  • To maintain our neighbourhoods charm and “old town” character.
  • To promote and develop our local economy.
  • To implement and manage environmental projects, such as community recycling projects.
  • To implement and manage community communication systems.

OUR VISION

We see a safe, clean and prosperous Capital Park, a neighbourhood filled with art galleries and studios, coffee shops and “feel good” destinations.  A hub of creative and inspiring people, building a better neighbourhood and contributing to an effective city and a prosperous South Africa.

OUR FINANCES

CAPRRA is a non-profit company.  Committee members work for free and receive no payment.  We require funds to finance our community projects and communication programmes.

We rely on donations from local residents and businesses to fund our projects.

We have a registered bank account for CAPPRA and financial information and reports are available from our treasurer.

Donations are welcome!
